The Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) on August 03, 2026, notified regarding the procedure to be followed by Project Proponents (PPs) for obtaining comments from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) during the processing of Environment Clearance (EC) proposals.
The Board in line with the MoEF&CC Office Memorandums dated January 14, 2025, October 8, 2025, and November 25, 2025, has notified a standardized procedure for processing Environment Clearance (EC) proposals through the PARIVESH 2.0 Portal. Under the revised framework, project proponents are exempt from obtaining Consent to Establish (CTE) before grant of EC, with applicable CTE conditions being incorporated into the EC itself.
Project proponents shall submit an EC to CTE application through the GPCB XGN Portal, pay the prescribed processing fee online, upload the payment receipt on the PARIVESH Portal, after which GPCB will verify the payment and forward its comments to the concerned EAC/SEAC. The circular also prescribes the role of Regional Offices in furnishing environmental safeguards and comes into force with immediate effect.
